The St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London

This resulted in a grand hotel called Midland Grand Hotel. It all started in 1865 when the Midland Railway Company decided to step into the hotels industry. Called a Gothic treasure that was too beautiful and too romantic to survive in world of concrete and block towers by Sir John Betjeman, St. Pancras’s survival is quite amazing. A competition was held for 150-bed hotel and even though the building had 300 beds, George Gilbert Scott’s design won.
