A Penn Township man is accused of taking photographs of a girl through the kitchen windows of a Westmoreland County home.The girl told police she noticed a red light on a digital camera outside a kitchen window Jan.
1 and later found 11 photographs of herself on a camera belonging to Patrick William Rankin, 21, according to an affidavit of probable cause. Some of the photographs were zoomed in on various body parts, police said.
Rankin admitted to standing on something outside of the home to take the pictures and told police he was trying to capture evidence of the girl “making a mess” in the kitchen.
though police said in the complaint that there was nothing amiss in the photographs. Rankin is charged with invasion of privacy and harassment by summons. A May 2 preliminary hearing is set.
